(Meliphagidae; Ϯ White-gaped Honeyeater S. unicolor) Gr. στομιον stomion bridle-bit, mouth < dim. στομα stoma, στοματος stomatos mouth; πηρα pēra wallet, pouch; "XLVIII. Stomiopera RCHB. s. Nat. Syst. d. Vög. Sppl. — Weicht durch den bedeutend längeren und stärkeren Schnabel, ein häutiges Mundtäschchen für jeden Mundwinkel und Mangel farbiger Ohrbüschel von Ptilotis ab, mit welcher die Gattung übrigens übereinstimmt, aber an deren Ende offenbar die Gattung Philedon repräsentirt. — Ich bildete den Namen aus το στομιον, Mund, und ἡ πηρα, Tasche. *250. St. unicolor (Ptilotis — GOULD) RCHB. — t. CCCCLXXI. 3355—56. ... *251. St. ocularis (Glyciphila GOULD) RCHB. — t. CCCCLXXIX. 3399—3400."
