(Paridae; Ϯ Sultan Tit M. sultanea) Gr. μελας melas, μελανος melanos black; χλωρος khlōros yellow; "Melanochlora Sumatrana, Less. —M. corpore atro æneo splendente; crista et abdomine luteis, alis et cauda concoloribus. —Hab. Sumatra. L'autre espèce de ce genre, de la famille des Mésanges, ressemble beaucoup à celle décrite, et M. La Fresnaye l'a figurée sous le nom de Parus flavocristatus, Mag. de Zool, pl. 80 (1838)."
