(Thamnophilidae; † Blue-lored Antbird H. immaculata) Dr Jürgen Haffer (1932-2010) German geologist, palaeontologist, ornithologist. "Hafferia Isler, Bravo, and Brumfield gen. nov.  Type species. Thamnophilus immaculatus Lafresnaye, 1845.  ...  Distinguished from other genera in longipes clade except Pyriglena and Inundicola by plumage.  Male black or grayish black; female brown or brown and gray, both lacking wing covert spots.  Differs from Pyriglena by having bare periorbital patch and lacking white interscapular patch.  Differs from Inundicola by longer tail and shorter wings resulting in substantially larger tail length/wing length ratio.  Dome-shaped nest differs from nest of Myrmeciza  ...  We are pleased to name this genus for the late Jürgen Haffer, whose seminal contributions to Neotropical ornithology are summed up elsewhere (Winkler 2011) and whose brilliant mind and willingness to share enriched us personally over the years.  The name Hafferia is feminine in gender.  If Hafferia and Inundicola are united, we would afford priority to Hafferia" (Isler et al. 2013); "Hafferia Isler, Bravo & Brumfield, 2013, Zootaxa, 3717 (4), p. 491.  Type, by original designation, Thamnophilus immaculatus de La Fresnaye, 1845."
