(Cisticolidae; † Zitting Cisticola C. juncidis cisticola) Gr. κιστις kistis  little basket  < dim. κιστη kistē  basket; L. -cola  dweller  < colere  to dwell (cf. specific name Sylvia cisticola Temminck, 1820 (= subsp. Cisticola juncidis)); the Zitting Cisticola, formerly known as Fan-tailed Warbler, is the only European member of this wide-ranging Old World, predominantly Afrotropical, genus of small monomorphic warblers; “2. ● "Cacatua leadbeateri aberrans eine neue Subspecies.  ...  Was am meisten in die Augen springt ist, daß bei der nordwestlichen Form die gelbe Partie des Schopfes, welche bei der südöstlichen Form so klar hervortritt, abwesend ist.  Dazu kommt der Größenunterschied als ein sehr wichtiges Moment.  Die beschreibene Form ist, was aus dem oben Gesagten hervorgeht, in allen Hinsichten die kleinste.  Sie ist außerdem heller gefärbt als die Hauptform.  ...  C. leadbeateri aberrans repräsentiert augenscheinlich als der nordwestlichste Ausläufer der Art eine gute geographische Form." ● "DRYMOICA  ABERRANS.—SMITH.   AVES.—PLATE LXXVIII.  (FEMALE.)  ...  Although this bird does not exhibit what may be considered all the typical characters of Drymoica, it must, in my opinion, nevertheless be regarded as appertaining to that genus, and as being a species which must be ranked as one of the first in the division which includes the aberrant forms.  The species represented in Plates 79 and 80 present characters still more remote from those of the true Drymoica, yet I cannot bring myself to separate them under another designation" (A. Smith 1843) (Cisticola).
● "Trichoglossus aberrans.  Im allgemeinen mit T. massena übereinstimmend, mit schmalen schwarzen Brustbinden, aber die Oberseite gelbgrün wie die von T. schoedei, Nackenband grüngelb und der Hinterkopf heller rotbraun (fuchsig) als bei T. massena.  Aus Kaiser-Wilhelms-land in Neuguinea leider ohne nähere Fundortsgabe eingesandt."
