(Ploceidae; Ϯ Northern Red-headed Weaver A. leuconotos) Gr. αναπλεκω anaplekō to entwine, to braid (cf. ανα ana with; genus Symplectes Swainson, 1837, weaver); "LXVIII. Anaplectes RCHB. Kukuksschnabel-Weber. Schnabelfirste mit schmal länglichem Ausschnitt tief in die Stirn tretend, Nasenlöcher länglichrund parallel vorstehend, der ganze Schnabel kukuksartig sanft gebogen, sehr spitz, obere und untere Schneide gleich. Flügel ein Drittheil des Schwanzes bedeckend. Schwanz gestutzt, kaum gerundet. Läufe dünn, der ganze Vogel schlank gestreckt. — Man hat diese Vögel zu Symplectes gemacht, nachdem man SWAINSON'S eigentlichen und einzigen Symplectes neu benannt hat. 323.
