DEFINITIONS

RHAGOLOGUS
(Rhagologidae; Ϯ Mottled Berryhunter R. leucostigma) Gr. ῥαγολογος rhagologos  berry-gathering  < ῥαξ rhax, ῥαγος rhagos  berry; λεγω legō  to gather; "Rhagologus Stres. & Palud. (genus novum).  Typus und einzigen Art: Pachycephala leucostigma Salvadori, ein Vogel, der bisher mit Unrecht in die Insektenfresser-Gattung Pachycephala gestellt oder gar unter die am Boden laufenden Pachycephalopsis" (Stresemann & Paludan 1934). The Mottled Berryhunter, an aberrant Papuan endemic formerly known as Mottled Whistler, False Whistler or Rhagologus, has been allied to the woodswallows Artamidae and the whistlers Pachycephalidae.
