Rostrum magnum. Alæ mediocres, remigum pogoniis internis immarginatis, apice obtusis. Cauda æqualis. Pedes subbreves, fortes. ... Type. Tyrannus sulphuratus. Vieill. Ois. de L'Am. pl. 47."
