(Alaudidae; † Gray's Lark A. grayi) Genus Ammomanes Cabanis, 1851, lark; Gr. οψις opsis appearance; "II. Subgen. Ammomanopsis, nov. (typus Alauda grayi Wahlb.)" (Bianchi 1905); "die dritte südafrikanische Form, Amm. grayi (Wahlb.) 1855, in eine gesonderte Gruppe - Ammomanopsis zu stellen. Der augenblicklich einzige Vertreter dieser Gruppe zeichnet sich durch graulich-weisse Unterflügeldeckfedern aus" (Bianchi 1905 (transl. Benno Otto)); "Ammomanopsis Bianchi, 1905, Bull. Acad. Imp.
