Calobatesa, Temm. C. radiceus, (Temm.) n., Pl. col. 538. ... a Similar to a name used in Entomology." (G. R. Gray 1840); "Carpococcyx G. R. Gray, List Gen. Bds., 1840, p. 56. New name for Calobates Temminck, not of Kaup. 1 .... 1 Gray renamed Calobates Temminck, because it was "similar to a word used in entomology"; he overlooked Calobates Kaup, apparently having in mind only Calobata Meigen, 1803, Diptera."
