(Meliphagidae; Ϯ Black-faced Friarbird P. moluccensis) Gr. φιλημων philēmōn, φιλημονος philēmonos  affectionate, kissing  < φιλημα philēma, φιληματος philēmatos  kiss; "Polochion  ... Tel est le nom et le cri habituel de cet oiseau des Moluques; il se répète sans cesse étant perché sur les plus hautes branches des arbres, et par le sens qu'a ce mot dans la langue Moluquoise, il semble inviter tous les êtres sensibles à l'amour et à la volupté  ... Ce mot, en la langue des Moluques, signifie baisons-nous; et en conséquence M. Commerson propose de nommer cet oiseau Philemon ou Philedon ou deosculator, c'est-à-dire, baiseur" (de Buffon 1770-1783); “Commerson had said that the word Polochion, which expressed the cry and was the name of the bird, signified ‘baisons-nous’, and hence proposed to call it Philemon or Philedon.
