Bec grand, presque droit à la base, convexe en dessus. — Narines elliptiques. — Tarses alongés, nus, ou vêtus, un peu grêles. — Doigts courts; extérieurs unis à l'origine par une membrane. — Ongles pointus. 2 sections. Esp. Autour huppé, le Vaill. Oiseaux d'Afrique. — Aigle moucheté, Vieill. Oiseaux de l'Amérique sept. ... Spizaëtus [σπιζια, accipiter, αετος, aquila]."
