(Podicipedidae; Ϯ Little Grebe or Dabchick T. ruficollis) Gr. ταχυς takhus fast; βαπτω baptō to sink under; "The Dabchick floats, swims, dives, and, as I have ascertained from observation, flies under water, with astonishing ease and activity.
